Last time this happened for me was about 1998 or 1999. Flying EWR-MCO on Easter morning with my two sons: ages 4 and 8. FC of B727 was wide open. Only entitled to get one of the two CPUed to FC -- which wasn't going to work for us given their ages -- so I fully intended for alll of us to sit together in Y (which was also a ghost town). GA saw this and gave all three of us CPUs. (There were still FC seats empty even after our bump-up.) Gained a lot of status in my 8-year-old's eyes that day. Sadly, not so much today.
