At the risk of sounding callous, nothing in this story sounds that bad...
I mean, you come back to UA for the first time on a P international fare and you get:
1) a 24 hour delay from a flight cancellation
2) an aircraft down-guage
3) the stress of dealing with an over-sale where they're gunning for an F seat (I've been in that situation, not fun)
4) a lengthy delay at EWR with three gate changes
I don't think UA exactly crushed this one...
