Wink Thanksgiving Sunday Award Flight Dilemma

Hi all:

So this past July I was booking an award flight for my son going back to college in Harrisburg, PA (MDT) from Kansas City (MCI) during Thanksgiving. Luckily, found space in XN for the Tuesday before and unfortunately only found space on the flight back for the Saturday after Thanksgiving arriving at 11:58 PM. Both directions stopped in ORD.

Of course, I knew it'd be next to impossible, if not impossible, to find an award for the Sunday following Thanksgiving. However, this morning the flight number changed for the final leg from ORD-MDT on Saturday night. I called UA and told them how I was not comfortable with the schedule change as the new flight number was "unlucky" for my son. The agent agreed to change the flight for no fee. I asked for the next day and she put me on the following with availability in XN!

Sunday, 11/27/2016--
MCI-ORD UA3697 >> 5AM - 6:39AM
–––CONNECTING TIME AT O'HARE = 23 MIN–––
ORD-MDT UA4482 >> 7:02AM - 9:46AM

I didn't notice the 23 minute connection time at ORD when she booked it and the flight is confirmed.

Of course, I told my 18 y/o son and he's excited for it and would be willing to run & experience the "adrenaline rush"–he'll have no checked baggage. FYI: There's no more award availability on any other flights the rest of the day.

TL;DR: Advice on what to do with a 23 minute connection at O'Hare set up by a United agent on one of the busiest, if not the busiest travel day of the year??

Thanks!
