I'm in the process of comparing between picking IEC (euro) vs. local AMEX (Italian). (I currently live in Italy). Any insights on advices or tips on picking IEC or local AMEX would be appreciated.

I was wondering what are the process to transfer MR points from IEC to my US based AMEX MR account? I read in this thread that the transfer can be only done once per year? (Is it calendar year?)
