IDB Question

I was involuntarily denied boarding on BA 531 at SPU as part of SPU-LHR-BOS. SPU doesn't offer OLCI. I arrived to check in at T-80 and could not be given a seat assignment. I was instructed to wait until T-45 at which point I was told that I could not board as the flight was oversold and checked in full. I was ticketed on a Y fare.

I asked first if they had for solicited volunteers and they had not. I then asked to be provided with a document that explains my rights in the EU as it relates to IDB. The Split Airport stated that they do not have any information to provide me and that I should just accept my rebooking the following day. I was rebooked on SPU-ZAG-LHR-BOS as I was told that SPU-LHR the next day was unavailable (despite it being available for sale online). My 10.5 hour itinerary became a 20hr itinerary.

At minimum, BA has agreed to 400 euro compensation under 261/2004. I was quite upset that they first didn't solicit volunteer and second, that they didn't inform me that I had a right to decline the routing offered and request a refund. I would have then purchased the available BA 531 seat or traveled on a LCC to London through a routing more time effective. Would folks here feel that the failure to ask for volunteers or inform me of my IDB rights justifies additional compensation?
