I have a layover in December, just before New Year's Eve, in BKK. Flying business, but sitting inside the lounge for that long will drive me crazy. There's an in airport hotel, Louis' Tavern I think, but barring that, okay to take the Airlink into the city and recommendations on what to do?

I anticipate shaving 1 hour exiting the airport and 2 hours checking back in, giving me about 7.5 hours of leisure time. Any low stress recommendations/malls/shopping in the city I can do by taking the airlink from the airport, assuming I'm not going to be too tired (I land at 6:20am flying from Oslo).
