Crowne Plaza Lima Master Thread

I've just completed 2 stays at the Crowne Plaza Lima and it is honestly the worst Crowne plaza hotel I have ever stayed at.

For starters we paid for a TWIN room but only listed 1 adult. Booked by app and forgot to change it to 2. Happens quite often, never a problem. They tried to charge $30 a day extra person charge!

As a spire member we got a free bottle of water and a bag of potato chips. They upgraded us to what they call a suite. The room was huge but shabby. It's winter here and at night it was freezing! The heat did not work. We then checked out and was charged 120 soles for a taxi to the airport! It was only 60 from the airport and 40 from the city to airport from the Hilton around the corner.

Tried to cancel my second booking as it was the worst stay but was refused.

Came back a week later and wasn't upgraded. They remembered our complaints and said "oh, you were here last week".

We got a room next to the elevator and it kept us awake all night. The traffic outside is so noisy even though Windows don't open. We woke the first morning to a burning in our throats and a headache. Went to get paracetamol from the pharmacy and came back to the room. It smelt so toxic! They were painting the rooms on the floor without any ventilation - no windows open!

We complained and they told us to open a window. Windows do not open.

This time they added the $30 a day extra person charges and once again ripped us off with a taxi. They would not get us a local taxi and charged us 3 times the price for what wasn't even a luxury car.

At $175-190 USD a night and then $30 a day for the 2nd guest this was awful. The service is terrible, the hotel is not Crowne plaza standard.

Further research shows it was a holiday inn and somehow they were upgraded to Crowne plaza. It's not.

Stayed at the Santiago Crowne plaza in between stays here and that place was incredible - upgrades, lounge access, cheaper rates, friendly staff.

if this is how they treat spire ambassadors I can't imagine how they are with guests who have no loyalty.

I would highly recommend the Hilton miraflores. We stayed 3 nights as diamond and got a suite and lounge access. The lounge is incredible, you can eat breakfast lunch dinner snacks and evening drinks in there. So relaxing.
