It's a well known bug.

If you've flown four qualifying flights you don't have anything to worry about for gold or renewing it next year.

You would be gold until 31 December 2017, and (from reading on here yesterday) as long as you have four qualifying BA flights in 2016-17 you will soft land, but you would need to have the four.
