If you will be going to TLG from Lijiang and returning to Lijiang, then leave excess luggage at your hotel (can be put in the Bell Closet). If you will be traveling from Lijiang to TLG/hike to Shangri-La--or vice versa--then you will need to take everything with you. In Qiaotou town, you can leave your excess luggage for a small fee with Jane's Guesthouse, located at the start of the upper trail hike. You'd need to return there after the hike to pick up and continue onward.
