My sister got this silly tablet welcome on her first flight as Silver in economy... quite embarrassing, she did not understand why the cabin crew handed her an iPad...

As Gold from time to time I get the "welcome" or acknowledgement. On one of the recent flights, I was the only person in Club (small cabin 3 rows afaik) CSM addressed by name... which was enough for me to feel acknowledged without feeling embarrassed.
