Cool "Please acknowledge this high value customer"...

I saw an interesting thing a few weeks ago on an LHR-NCE flight and remembered to ask about it here

I saw the person in the seat in front of me get handed an iPad by a cabin crew member. It had a message along the lines of "15B: please acknowledge this high value customer and thank them for their loyalty, ask if...". (This was in Economy!). The customer read the message, looked somewhat confused, and handed it back.

Is this some special acknowledgement protocol I'm not aware of (certainly not seen the iPad handover before!) - perhaps a GGL/Prem thing ? Or is this just a novel execution of the standard Silver/Gold acknowledgment?
