I thought the compensation rules regarding lost luggage claims were pretty clear the last time I looked at them. Is there not a limit they are obliged to pay and anything above that is down to goodwill or your insurance?

IB/BA lost one of our bags. It turned up after 30 days just as I was about to put in a large claim for my missing collection of designer label clothing.
