Right, so what you need to do is:

- Don't bother calling BA if you haven't found availability on the BA.com reward search - it's a complete waste of time.

- Keep checking, every day if you like, on BA.com. The desktop site stores your previous searches on your login page so you can re-check pretty quickly.

- If you do find availability, call BA asap to book it.

For me, Avios not a great program, the damn things are just too damn difficult to get rid of.
Actually the programme can be pretty good for someone whose employer books into WTP.
