Have you checked what airlines fly that route? And with a schedule that is OK and with a price you are willing to pay?
I assume you are a USA resident. Are you a member of any ffp's?
With international flights you will not get upgrades like on USA domestic flights.
With non USA airlines always expect to fly in the cabin you pay for.
Some to many low priced economy fares will not be eligible for upgrades.
Generally you can only upgrade the airline you are flying with miles/cash from that airlines ffp. But there are exceptions
