CX would no longer regard that as "connecting" from the point of view of baggage handling, so do we have any evidence yet as to whether that still counts as "connecting" from the point of view of lounge access?
I agree that the rules don't explicitly mention this particular scenario, but what they do say is that "First Class passengers may invite one guest to join them in the lounge. The guest must also be travelling on a flight operated and marketed by a oneworld airline.". wdc is an F pax=> access.

Regarding the "no interlining" comment: there is no requirement for your two sectors to be on one ticket. You just have to present an incoming F/J BP. As for evidence,my friend was on YVR-HKG (CX F) connecting to HKG-VVO (S7 J) last month,I told her she should get access to Pier F and she did with no questions asked.

I also know of people who got in CX F lounges by virtue of an opuped incoming BP of another carrier connecting to CX (eg:OWS flying BA LHR>HKG J (upgraded to F) /HKG>TPE CX J,getting F access in HKG,separate tickets. They should not have allowed that because CX allows access based on cabin booked, not flown ....but they have no way to check if it's not a CX flight.
