Interesting question about the friend - I've never seen that question asked before.

If you are OW Emerald or were departing on F then the answer would clearly be yes to the guest. But in the case of access through incoming F then I see nothing in the CX or oneworld websites that covers it.
It does not matter at all whether the tickets are separate or not,wdc will definitely get access.

He/she can ask JFK check in to issue a BP for HKG-TPE and the staff will automatically issue an F invite. They don't have to ask for it and just get the onward BP in HKG and show a JFK-HKG BP to get an invite,but the former will save them a trip to the transit desk.

Re:Guesting. Also a yes here. OWE or F (in other words 99% of F lounge visitors,except those on "DM mid tier passes" ticket get access for the passenger and a guest. Someone is either eligible for access for themselves and a guest to an F lounge,or not eligible at all,no middle road here.
