Dianne,

Thank you no much for your response. Great questions.

The Delsey definitely holds a bit more and is more spacious inside. But I think the tapered top of the TravelPro will help it fit top-first into the overhead.

Regarding external size, both are about 23 inch tall with wheels and both can be squeezed to 9 or so deep. The Travelpro is 14+ a bit wide but the Delsey is a full 15. Both could be gate checked but both will likely make most flights in the cabin I think.

The Travelpro would hold up to scratches better as it is a highly textured finish. The Delsey is a flat finish and would probably show more wear. Delsey is 7.7 lbs and the TP is 6.7 lbs.

Both have compression tie-downs but I like the pockets in the Travelpro more.

The Delsey has the flat laying locks and the Travelpro has the edge locking. I'm not sure that will matter too much though as they don't stand out too much and there is a handle that stands out further in front of it.

Ultimately, I think it comes down to space v. features for them. Unless there are some other things like quality construction, that I am not considering.
