I thought the monkey brains were served 'fresh' in the movie However, as I've been told in Delhi, the monkey is worshipped by most in India, and is not eaten. If this is incorrect, I would like to know from someone with first-hand experience.

OTOH, snakes, eyeballs, very fresh (i.e. live) food are quite common in a number of Asian countries. The list is much longer, but for the squeamish, be grateful I am practicing broad self-censorship.
