Francophile, I agree with you about Le Cinq; it is an amazing restaurant. As I have written in other posts Phillipe Legendre has a very precise and delicate hand with the sauces and the lunch "menu" is an outstanding value.
Taillevent also has a new lunch "menu" priced to be competitive with Le Cinq. Taillevent is, IMHO, the finest example of a french restaurant I have ever been to. The Lobster Boudin is one of the best appetizers I have ever had.
I enjoyed Le Louis XV in Monaco -- we had seats on the terrace which allowed us to feel the Monegasque experience, watch the action of the Place du Casino all while being protected from view from the outside.
Le Moulin de Mougins is still one of my most favourite restaurants; the setting in the summertime is so lovely.
One of my favourite restaurants in Paris is a small place in the Marais, Au Gamin de Paris, in rue Vieille du Temple. No stars, nothing fancy, just simple good food, lots of atmosphere, and lots of good fun.
