If you are not tied to Kihei/Wailea it is worth making the trip up to Lahaina to eat at Pacific'O in my opinion. Beautiful setting where you can eat outdoors on the beach or under a canopy and since it is west facing you can watch the sunset (though you might want to bring sunglasses to dinner if you go at that time as it can be quite bright!). Food was excellent and entrees run about $25 US which for Maui is quite reasonable
