BA (and presumably other airlines in Amadeus), are able to take one coupon, and invol reissue that coupon alone, so you would still have your original 16 coupon e-ticket, with one coupon invol exchanged to another ticket that may have another 1+ coupons on it (however many were needed to replace the affected single coupon flight).
