I AM I must admit assuming refunds ARE offered in these cases... so anyone who doesn't take the refund and make their own alternative arrangements is essentially CHOOSING to wait... right?
YES.. I know last minute flights are going to cost more than Spirit fares... so you'll be out of pocket.. but isnt THAT the risk you take using them in the first place?
Talk of Government regulation etc in this case reminds of the folks who demand regulation of such things as legroom......(also inspired no doubt by ULCCs) The unspoken subtext is that things must be made better... but that fares must STAY the same...
i am going to assume that most who fly spirit are of lower economic status; so to get a refund on a $50 ticket and have to buy a last minute ticket that will probably cost a few hundred dollars may not be possible for many of them. the airline should be responsible for getting them home in a timely manner; even if it means booking the on different airlines
