If all is issued on one ticket, then all your succeeding sectors should be protected (by CX) in case of delays.

One time I arrived at LAX about 2 hours delayed. The gate staff had a pin board with boarding passes for all re-booked connections, including some priority lane cards at CBP (orange card).
