Sounds like the FA didn't like a passenger complaining about the situation and abused their power.
It seems like that to me, but I'm sure that the FA and pilot also checked out the name of the involved passengers and knew that the name of the "subversive" was "Muslim".
Perhaps the involved FA's internet habits may tell enough about the role of prejudice in the situation. Other than that, we still have the situation of a power-tripping cabin crew member that may lack proper passenger management skills.
