Woodman's Grocery Store - Largest In US - Kenosha (and other locations)

On my way back to Chicago from visiting my nephew at Marquette U in Milwaukee, I stopped by Woodman’s Grocery, supposedly the largest supermarket in the US.

Following is quote from: http://www.jsonline.com/news/sunday/...8storewood.stm

Inside the 250,000-square-foot supermarket, there is a 115,000-square-foot warehouse and an 11,000-square-foot liquor department carrying some 1,000 wines from around the world
The Kenosha Woodman's, believed to be the largest supermarket in the nation, is part of an independent Wisconsin chain of seven stores. The other stores are located in Madison, Janesville, Beloit, La Crosse and Appleton.
This store draws about 20,000 customers and $1 million in sales weekly
Woodman's shoppers come from a roughly 30-mile radius, Ludeman said. About half are from Illinois.

If you go: Exit I-94 at Highway 50 and head east. The store is just east of the interstate on the north side of Highway 50. It's open 24 hours daily
While I really like the variety, I almost felt as if the buyers had asked the major corporate food manufacturers to send them all they manufactured, I was disappointed not to see more independent brands.

That being said, the prices were quite good on dry good/grocery items. The prices in the meat case prices were so-so for the few items I checked out.

That being said, I did come home w/about $60 worth of goods, among the buys were: mojo criollo marinade, moles, bitter orange marinade, a kringle (the good Racine kind), some bottled water I really like and can’t find in Chicago, and a box of brats (huh! Who would have guessed from a store in WI ).
