I would welcome the collective wisdom of this board, I filed an EC261 claim for a flight that was cancelled 9 days beforehand. I was autorebooked on to the only TXL-LCY that day.
Original flight was BA8492 due to arrive at 12:40.
Flight taken BA8494 scheduled arrival 17:40, actual arrival 17:35 date was 5/7/16
I finally spoke to someone today who said the claim had been denied due to the reason being stated as 'crew'.Nice of them to let me know

I have asked for the case to be appealed as I don't see how a cancellation 9 days out is not avoidable ? certainly not 'exceptional'.
Perhaps I am wrong, I would appreciate any input.
