I think aircraft swaps on VS are a little more frequent than some other transatlantic carriers because of their relatively small fleet....compared say to BA.

Just as an example, I have a return flight planned Heathrow to Boston in October. I made the booking many months ago and up to now, the outward bound flight has been changed from a Boeing Dreamliner to an A340 and ....just a few days ago....the return flight , from an A340 back to the Boeing again.

I'm not too fussed. It just meant swapping assigned seats as I prefer to sit in the " single " row and not the double in UC. So, I'm on the right hand side of the Airbus going out and the left hand side of the Boeing on the return.

Hope you enjoy VS UC. I would have to say that it has changed a bit in the 15 years that my wife and I first used it to fly to the States.....and not always for the good.

The " new " UC suite was a backward step we thought with the reduced space and transparent glass panels between seats rather than the previous solid partitions. They were supposedly to give the UC cabin the feeling of more space and light but all it did I think was to reduce your privacy.

The VS UC lounges at Boston and Washington are good. Not used the JFK one. However I think one of the highlights of your trip might just be on the return when you use the Heathrow lounge. It is quite fabulous ! So I suggest plan to spend a little time there and enjoy its facilities

In our modest opinion, VS UC still has alot of style and zing about it and is much preferable we think to BA Business. The VS cabin crew are always superb .

So, whatever type of aircraft you choose to fly, I am sure you will have a wonderful time and be well looked after by VS.
