I am going to second Tommaso's and Zachary's.
I used to work right around the corner from Tommaso's @ Montgomery and Pacific and would sample their wares a couple times a week.
It was very good.

Outside of The City, Frankie, Johnny and Luigies in Mountain View off El Camino doesn't suck. It's not "fine dining", but it's open late and the service and food is pretty good.
