I live on the south side of the bay down in Santa Clara county (sometimes refered to as Silicon Valley).

I prefer a thin crust pizza, in what I believe to be the NY style.

The best that I have found after 20 years.

1. Coppola's, which is not longer in business. It was a sad day when they closed to "move". The pizza was so good that it seemed like a sin to want more that a plain cheese pizza.

2. Amici's on the corner of Castro and High School in Mountain View. It is a chain with a place in Redwood City and I have heard rumours of another opening in Cupertino. You can sit at the counter and watch them cook your pizza. The pizza is excellent right out of the oven. I have ordered it "to go" and raced it home, it is still excellent, but it is heavenly right out of the oven.

This is a family run sort of place, with a lot of the action behind the counter going on in Italian back in the kitchen. Great place for a slice for late lunch. Can be busy for a noon lunch, since it is close to where people work, and many of those people have noticed that the food is good. The non-pizza Italian menu items are also good.
