I'm planning on 4 nights in Feb at the Madeleine (right before my Diamond runs out), but my in-laws are nervous about safety. Anyone been lately? My feeling is that their "it's a war zone" talk is pretty ridiculous, but a sanity check would be great. I do see there's a State Dept alert for Europe in general, but I don't really feel like it's any less safe than DC where I work everyday.
