I'm surprised a search of the word "pizza" in this forum did not reveal any such restaurants in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Of course, the Pizzeria Uno restaurants are part of a chain, serving Chicago Deep Dish pizza.
I have always liked a local pizza place 20 miles north of San Francisco in San Rafael (Terra Linda), about three miles west along M.T. Freitas Parkway. At the intersection of Del Ganado Road, there is a small shopping center.
To reach
LoCoco's Italian Pizzeria you can turn immediately after passing through the Del Ganado T-intersection (3-way stop), or turn right at the intersection and then left after the fire station.

It was founded in the early 1970s by three brothers straight from Italy. They've opened two other places, one in San Anselmo and the other somewhere in the East Bay, I think. The name LoCoco is apparently common among Italian restaurant owners. I don't know if there's any connection to this similarly-named place in Berkeley --

At the end of both Freitas Parkway and Del Ganado Road is publicly-owned open space. If you have two cars, it makes a nice two- or three-mile walk (hike) along the fire roads, with views of San Pablo Bay. Or one can start at the end of Freitas and hike as far as one wishes, or walk on the sidewalks down in Terra Linda to complete a circle.
Anyway, it's a great place for pizza after an outing like that, or after spending the day at the Terra Linda Rec Center swimming pool across Del Ganado.
