Remember that transborder flights are international. Don't assume that the check in, bag drop, and door close deadlines are the same as those for domestic flights. I would assume that every passenger must check in and check bags by one hour before departure with no exceptions. (These are the rules for flights to Canada from MSP and they seem to be enforced.)
