Float plane was mentioned because a lot of travel to Victoria is from, or at least via, Vancouver and there are downtown-to-downtown float plane connections between the two cities. A float plane is exactly what it sounds like, a small aircraft that lands on water in the harbour rather than using a fixed airport. Victoria traffic is nowhere near as bad as San Francisco, there will be slowdowns but it's a small city and the downtown>YYJ trip won't be more than 40 minutes.
Makes perfect sense in an area with so much water! Will leave it up to my husband. If he wants to drive up and fetch me at the airport that should work fine at 2 pm and I can also consider the cab option . Thanks for advice!
