If you're quoting one of the photos above, that was a different evacuation - BA in Las Vegas, last year. I don't think this incident would have given anyone time to try and grab their bags.
One of the twitter videos I've seen (sorry, can't recall where the link was) was from today, showing people running from the EK aircraft pulling wheeled cabin bags, and a child carrying a large backpack.
Don't underestimate an individual's desire to prioritise their own laptop over someone else's life...
