Does anyone have any comments or experiences about J seats on the 77W?
yes, welcome to the forum.
as this is perhaps one of - if not
the - oft-most discussed topic, I recommend you have a search around. Use the advanced search function and search for "best business class", "business class seats", "mini cabin", etc. FWIW, there are two configurations of 77W: 77H (4 class w/ F, which you're on), and 77G (3 class no F). Both serve YVR but CX888 is exclusively 77H. The hard product is identical but layouts different. There are probably 30+ threads covering this topic. The seat is called "Cirrus" J class, and started rolling out on CX's 77Ws in 2011. Older, defunct configurations of CX's 77Ws included "77A" and "77D". While 77A featured a different hard product and is irrelevant for you, 77D had an identical business section including hard product and layout as 77H, so anything written about that plane config will be valid too.
The window seats are preferable overall IME, but if you want to chat with each other, share food, etc. the middle seats are superior. It's generally not too cool to be hamming it up in the aisle or over the seats, especially as that's a night flight. In the seats, you won't be able to chat with each other or communicate. There are also a
ton of threads about this, you can search for "best seats together", most topics are about business class.
Also don't forget to check out our FAQ.
Finally, just a heads up the discussion in here will be around CX, not QF points. Any specific questions or comments about the QF frequent flyer program (including burning miles on other carriers) should be directed to the QF forum.
