Franco’s Cucina – Schaumburg & Streamwood
Fellow office worker was up for an Italian sandwich and I was up for pizza.
It was suggested that we go to Franco’s Cucina.
Franco’s is a very casual deli/bakery w/about 20 tables (Schaumburg location)
Italian sub was mortadella, provolone, salami and (I’m missing one meat) on a 6” roll.
Pizza was thick Sicilian style squares.
We both spilt our meals and agreed that both items were very very mediocre.
The meats had little flavor, the bread was not crusty but almost as if someone at Wonderbread decided to make a baguette.
The crust for the pizza was way too doughy, after my experience in Brooklyn I should know I’ll probably never find as light/crispy crust as I did there anywhere else. Sauce was good. Sausage and cheese were not.
There were some other “hot bar” items.
The bakery items looked promising, but after the poor lunch showing, I was gun shy about purchasing anything else.
