Charlie Beinlich's Tap - Northbrook
Had lunch today at Charlie Beinlich’s. This place has been around forever and to my knowledge has not changed at all. Interior reminds me of a Northwoods WI tap more than a local Northshore joint.
I figured out the last time I was at Beinlich’s was 24 years ago (and as stated I’m sure it has not changed).
Menu is up on a push letter board hung in the corner. Basic large burgers, fries or chips. Chili and a shrimp/crab cocktail are also offered.
I had a burger (must admit I wanted dark rye or pumpernickel, not a bun) fries, and a cup of chili.
Chili came first and was thick, good, not much spice though. A beans, beef mixture.
Burger came and was cooked to my medium rare specs. Over abundant serving of fries.
Burger was very good, not as good as Hackney’s in my view. I also like charcoal grilled burgers instead of the flattop grill method of preparation as Beinlich’s is.
