Olive Mountain – Evanston, IL – Middle Eastern/Lebanese
Had lunch today at Olive Mountain.
Dining partner and I are both suckers for shawerma sandwiches, so we both ordered the chicken shawerma which is described as: Layers of marinated chicken cooked slowly on a rotisserie and place in a pita w/lettuce, tomato and some tahini. Very tasty.
We split a kibbeh which is cracked wheat stuffed w/beef, onions, pine nuts and spices. One of the best kibbeh I’ve had.
We also split a dessert called Koulaj – baked phyllo dough stuffed w/baker’s cheese, drizzled w/ Middle Eastern Honey. MMMM quite good and not too sweet.
