Following the 60 Minutes documentary the opinion of Canadian accident investigator Larry Vance explaining the undamaged condition of the Flaperon has influenced a lot of people to heap further accusations against the pilot.

Mr Vance asserts the Flaperon could only have a damaged trailing edge if the flaperon was deployed in a controlled ditching. I dispute that conclusion. The trailing edge could also be tattered by flutter the same way a flag is in heavy wind.

Mr Vance does not address the BFO Doppler evidence from two signals at 00:19 UTC showing in a span of 8 seconds MH370's rate of descent accelerated from 12,000 fpm to 20,000 fpm.

The B777 Flight Manual cautions against deliberately exceeding 310 KIAS or 8,000 fpm in an emergency descent so 20,000 fpm is double that limitation. In fact it is double the rate of descent of Air France AF447 so just how does Mr Vance assert there was a controlled ditching at 20,000 fpm?
