Heaven On Seven, Chicago

New Orleans of course is famous for great cajun cuisine, but as you battle those long cold winters in the windy city you can "warm up" with some great and spicy food at Heaven on Seven

Its in the heart of downtown across from the Marriott and near the Nordstrom's shopping center on the second level of a movie theatre.

Decor wise it's like one of of those bajou one room buildings with the wood paneling and the smell of spices and BBQ in the room.

Several visits are required to get the full flavor of the different house specialities. Enjoyed the jamabalyah and the Andouille Sausage & Sweet Potato Polenta. Also enjoyed the catfish.

If you like it even spicier they have a variety of hot sauces of various degrees at your table to satisfy your tongue!

Heaven also offers a brunch menu (think a group of Flyertalkers went there during last year's Chicago do) and lunch as well.

Be warned: the place does fill up fast so reservations are a must. Make sure yoru party is there in full within 15 minutes of yoru reservation or your could lose your table.

They have three locations, the main one being at:

600 N. Michigan Avenue, Second Floor
312-280-7774

Special thanks to Anna S for telling me about this place!
