I think the words "denied boarding" is a bit misplaced here. This is not a classic case of denied boarding, but the OP was rebooked (presumably by SN) as there was no chance of making the connection at BRU, i.e. the OP and the other rebooked pax could no longer travel on the original booked GOT-BRU flight (which departed GOT late due to incoming aircraft being late; apparently due to adverse weather according to SN).
Yeah, I agree that it seems a bit strange to remove the OP from delayed GOT-BRU flight (usually you would travel on the delayed flight and the rebooking will made at place of misconnect) but perhaps it was better/easier to accommodate the OP in GOT rather than BRU; just to explain that we really don't why it made more sense to rebook the GOT-BRU flight to the following day.
