CX will put you on the next available flight as though you were on a paid booking. The only difference MAY be that you're at the back of the queue as an airmiles passenger, but a queue of 6 in F is not exactly huge.
I don't know the answer to your luggage question.
Girl on the phone said they keep the luggage, and I should just arrive at the airport early for check-in so they have time to retrieve it from storage and properly re-tag.
I tried asking to be rerouted via FRA but she claimed it was full and said they don't overbook F (for obvious reasons). Asked if she could try putting me via LHR or elsewhere in Europe but she didn't want to look at that. I suppose all of Tuesday's flights will be in disarray anyway. Was hoping I could get something early on Wednesday to miss less of my holiday.
