Same writer and director: Franco Dragone. He did "O" while he was at Cirque du Soleil, then branched off and formed his own company, which does this show. So yes, many similarities. Some might call this show "O+", since he used the same basic premise of a water-based stage show, but took into account all that he learned from doing earlier shows. The story line, such that it is, is completely different. And, the props and stage rigging are on a much larger scale. If you liked one, you're likely to like the other.
