I hope she gets back to normal soon.

I was hospitalized during a recent trip abroad after a concussion. I didn't obtain a 'fit to fly' certificate, and I didn't think of it, nor was I asked for one.

I requested special assistance for the flight home by booking it online and I had wheelchair assistance all the way through, from arriving at the airport, to being taken to my seat and again on the other side at LGW. I was genuinely impressed by how well it all worked. They helped me with the luggage and every step of the process. After reading this I do wonder if someone should checked that I was OK to fly. Therefore, I am sure you can 'slip through the net' but as others have said, its your health at play, and also the time of everyone onboard that aircraft if you have to divert due to complications.
