What's the Longest Trip You Have Had, Door To Door?
We tend to talk about flight duration alot, but the truth is travel time is door to door. The time to walk out your front door to the time you walk in the door of the place you are sleeping at your destination. This includes travel time to the airport, time at the airport, flight time, time at the destination airport waiting for bags or transport, transport to your destination, then finally walking in the door of your bedroom. How much of that time did you manage to sleep? How exhausted or energetic were you by the time it was over?
I have had some long ones..35 hours from where I used to live in Los Angeles to an apartment in Ballina, Australia. 40ish from San Diego to Allicante, Spain. Looking at 30 today from San to Gig.
EDIT: UA861 July 31 was delayed due to a hydraulic leak for 14 hours and required a replacement. Missed my connections at GRU, so now I can say the longest trip for me door to door was about 72 hours.
