Around $850 for 3 (Auberge, Napa Valley -- one of us wasn't drinking or it would have been worse).

I remember doing a quick mental calculation RE how I could have gotten an international round trip ticket and then some for that money, but still had no regrets

Auberge du soleil ? We were there once, four of us for about 800$. Very nice view over the valley, gorgeous sunset. A dinner I will never forget.
