West Jet doesn't have the same ruthless approach.

This year I have been flying more on airlines other than AC. I don't have status with AF/KLM but have been treated much better during a difficult time, than I ever was during IROPs at AC. I had a fantastic experience with BR earlier in the year and it beat my AC experience on the route to Hong Kong. What can I say about the excellent CX experience, and its lounges? And please don't toss out the claim that Asians work for peanuts or costs are lower. Hong Kong is one of the most expensive cities in the world and CX has high costs at its main hub. It's staff are relatively well paid, as are the staff at NH and BR.

I don't have animosity to West Jet because no gate agent has ever been an obnoxious prick to me. West Jet never changed a flight on me without giving me warning, as AC has done. West Jet doesn't make bogus promises to me. When I buy a cheap seat on the airline, I know what I am getting. With AC, it is often a crap shoot. Even the little Porter treats me better than AC.

I recently visited some AF/KLM lounges. Wow. What an incredible difference compared to the bargain basement MLLs. So, yes, please do tell how so many of us must be delusional and imagining the ongoing regression at AC. How cheap can they be, that all that they will offer for breakfast in an MLL is white bread and some eggs or the new premium offer at MLLs across Canada: Pickles. Seriously, what screwed up jerk does that? Who in his right mind would offer pickles? The take away for me with the pickles is that AC gave its customers the finger and said F.U. go away. If the MLL was not advertised and promoted as a lounge with food and a place to relax, I wouldn't be so incensed. When people feel that they have been ripped off, or deceived or maltreated, they become angry and start bashing.
I had a Westjet flight attendant take an instant dislike to me on a Aruba to Toronto almost empty flight. Someone was sitting in my seat and rather than have them move, I picked one of the other empty seats. The F/A chastised me and was extremely rude to me for the whole flight. I was not impressed with Westjet. It was my first flight with them . I had flown down to Aruba with A/C Rouge in the Premium cabin and had had a great flight.
The Westjet flight had been delayed several days to to snowstorms in Ontario. The information provided was non existent and resulted in two trips to the airport for no reason.
I had been looking forward to flying with Westjet, but was turned off by the whole experience.
I guess every airline has situations where they drop the ball!
