I used the automated bag drop at Dublin recently on aN EI flight and it was super quick. You simply placed your labeller bag on the belt and walked away. No questions, no ID checks, no hold ups!
And a great cost cutting opportunity to boot. Assuming you get decent equipment which is robust and up to the job.
