Why bash AC?
- The legacy of AC as a former crown-corp has created an attitude from the public and employees of general negativity. Given how frequently I still encounter members of the general public that believe AC is still crown-owned and/or has received frequent gov't bailouts, the level of ignorance only contributes further to the negative perception.
- Poor handling of IRROPS. While I've flown several hundred segments on AC, 99% without any major issues, the ones that have included significant IRROPS have ALL been messed-up or handled with indifference by AC staff. Just bad luck or a pattern?
- IT from another century. Highlighted by a new "beta" website that actually is more convoluted and difficult to navigate than the previous version. And, of course, the inexplicably frequent downtime.
- Aeroplan/Altitude. While Aeroplan is strictly speaking NOT AC, it is still inextricably linked with AC and the general trend is not one of improvements for ether Aeroplan or Altitude benefits. Aeroplan's latest, laughable "myths" PR stunt goes along with the next item.
- Inept PR Dept. Typically does more to make a bad situation worse in terms of perception. Maybe this has to do with AC simply empowering the wrong people to make customer-facing decisions that are actually meaningful instead of offering words of excuse.
