Love Steak & Roast Beef?
Go on, dig in! Eat a big, fat juicy steak now--as well as lots of other foods that are rich in vitamins B-6 and B-12 and folic acid--and you may ward off Alzheimer's disease later.
Two new studies from the school of medicine at the University of California, Davis and Prince of Wales Hospital in Randwick, Australia, report in the journal Neurology there is new evidence that homocysteine, an amino acid that is found in our blood, can cause the type of brain and blood vessel deterioration that can lead to dementia and Alzheimer's disease, as well as heart disease and strokes. But eating foods high in the B vitamins and folic acid can lower the level of homocysteine and help ward off the damage.
